How-to guides

The questions people ask us most, answered step by step. MyTV is a player: the channels come from your IPTV provider’s playlist.

Add your channels

You need a playlist from your IPTV provider: an M3U link, an M3U file or Xtream login details (server, username and password). We do not sell or provide channels or playlists.

  1. Open the MyTV app on your TV. It shows your TV ID and a QR code.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone, or open Upload Channels on a phone or computer and type the TV ID.
  3. Paste the link, choose the file or enter the Xtream details, and send it.
  4. The TV picks the playlist up by itself in about a minute.

Refresh or change your playlist

  • Your provider added or changed channels: open Refresh a playlist and send the playlist again, with the same link or login.
  • Your provider gave you a new link or new login details: send them on Upload Channels.

If the TV still shows the old channels after a minute, restart the app:

  • LG / Samsung: Open Settings in the MyTV Best app. Press red on the remote (Restart).
  • Android TV: Open Settings in the app. Select Restart App.

The playlist does not upload

  1. Check the TV ID: type it exactly as the app on your TV shows it.
  2. Copy the link or the Xtream details again from your provider’s message. One wrong character is enough to fail.
  3. Open the M3U link in a browser on a computer. If no file downloads or the page shows an error, the link no longer works: ask your provider for a new one.
  4. If it still fails, your provider’s server may not answer our upload service, or may block it. Ask your provider to check it, or ask for another server address, or for an M3U link instead of Xtream details.

Channels do not play, stop or keep buffering

The app plays the streams from your provider’s servers, so most playback problems come from the provider’s side.

  1. Check with your provider that your subscription to their service is active.
  2. Refresh the playlist with the latest link from your provider (Refresh or change your playlist).
  3. Restart the TV and the router, and check that other apps on the TV play video smoothly.
  4. If only some channels fail, those streams are down at the provider: ask your provider about them.

The same playlist plays in another app but not in ours? Write to us with your TV ID and the names of the channels. An advert inside a channel is part of the provider’s video: the app cannot remove it.

Channels work only in another country

Some channels are blocked outside the country they are made for.

  • The app cannot send video through a proxy, and LG and Samsung TVs have no VPN apps.
  • A VPN set up on your home router, with an exit in a country where the channels work, may help. It covers every device at home. We cannot promise that it works.
  • Some providers block channels by their own rules, not by country. Ask your provider whether the channels are limited to some countries.

The app cannot connect

Some internet providers block our servers. Switching your TV to a public DNS server fixes it in most cases: Change your DNS to 1.1.1.1.

Groups I removed still show on the TV

Removing groups on this site changes the channel groups of your playlist. Film and series categories come straight from your provider’s Xtream service, so they cannot be removed here.

  1. Restart the app on the TV.
  2. A channel group you removed still shows? Write to us with your TV ID and the name of the group.
